MINI and Mitsubishi: the grade
Two car campaigns we did not shoot. We coloured them, and cut the MINI 1499 GT film as well: the part of the job nobody names and everybody sees.
Car paint is the hardest thing to grade. It is a mirror, so it is every colour in the room.
The footage arrived shot. We did the colour, and on the 1499 GT the edit as well.
Almost all of it lives in the dark. Black has to stay black, and the yellow the same yellow every time.
A full studio production: white cyclorama, presenters, interiors, and a long list of detail shots that all had to end up looking like one film.
Five ten second spots, graded to run as one family.
