Posterboyz Studio

A merchandising company we started with artist Fresku and still run: brand, products, webshop, and the royalties portal that pays every artist selling through it.

The first sale was a ramen collab. We had no idea it would set the tone.

Posterboyz Studio is a merchandising company we started with Fresku in 2021 and still run.

Brand, product, sourcing, store, software: built in that order.

Everything stopped, so we started something that could ship

In 2021 the shows were cancelled and the shoots were off. We kept filming anyway: a documentary that is still in the works, and the videos for Dankbaar, Begrijpen and Ongeëvenaard.

We paid for strategy before we made a single product

First we hired a brand strategist. She framed it as an invitation rather than a shop: open to makers and artists ready to be seen.

Then we commissioned the brand guide. Everything after that is ours: design, sourcing, photography, packaging, the webshop, and eventually the software. Awaken, shape, collaborate went onto a wax seal, and onto every box that leaves us.

Nobody hired us to build this. That is why we are showing it.

The first thing the shop sold was a ramen collab

Fresku collects Japanese artwork, and Takumi Ramen Kitchen is built on it. We went to Eindhoven to meet Takumi Ogata, the designer behind the restaurants.

Ogata drew, we turned it into product: ten pieces, from hoodies to a ramen set with engraved chopsticks. Every one carries a line of his lettering, moet eten, moet. Two drops, a year apart. Nothing from the first one is left.

He drew it, we built it

Everything after the drawing was worked out around one table: print positions, garment weights, what survived being screen-printed at size. Two makers who had never shared a discipline, until the collection was one thing rather than a restaurant's art on a rapper's shirt.

We sold it in the room it was designed for

The launch was a listening session inside the restaurant: silent-disco headphones, ramen on the tables, the collection on a rail by the door.

The room heard the album and bought on the spot. People buy differently when they are standing inside the thing.

A double album, a book, and a wardrobe that had to match both

Leren Leven is Fresku's seventh studio album: thirty tracks. We handled the physical release: the LP, the cassette EP, and the book documenting how the album was made.

September and October 2024 are still the store's two biggest months.

Then the clothing, and a room full of boxes to prove it arrived

Polaroid and tour artwork on oversized tees and washed hoodies, plus a shirt Fresku drew himself.

Two films, no product shots. On the left the delivery landing and Fresku signing copies. On the right the pieces that could not be manufactured, painted one at a time.

Then other artists started asking

Gino Pietermaai came for a full drop: the Zwaar Master artwork, the oversized tee and the A1 poster, produced and sold through our own store. Nobinh followed with a limited run.

The offer is simple. Bring the audience: we cover everything between a drawing and a delivered parcel.

Yellow vinyl, a shirt, and the biggest launch the store has run

Outerspass came for the release of Zurück in die Arschloch. Yellow 12-inch vinyl, the official shirt, and the bundle of both.

Live in March 2026, 254 orders that month. They are also the first artist on the royalties portal.

At four artists, a spreadsheet stops being honest

Every artist earns a share of what their products make. For years that lived in a spreadsheet, so the artist had to take our word for it.

Now they sign in and watch their sales arrive, their share, and what they are owed. To get paid they invoice us from the same screen. Outerspass is live on it. A Dutch feature film releasing in 2027 joins next.

The royalties portal open on a tablet: an artist's units sold, revenue, payout and the breakdown behind it

“Working with people who still take the time to make something by hand asks for a process you have to step into: trying things out, and daring to take risks. Working with Posterboyz was a breath of fresh air.”

Fifteen minutes, no deck. Bring the product and we'll tell you honestly what we'd do with it.
